Rundown of Baron de Montesquieu

Baron de Montesquieu was born on January 18th, 1689 in the château De La Brède, near Bordelais. Early on, he acquired a reputation as a writer with his Lettres persanes(Persian Letters), it was published in 1721 without the author's name a pleasant satire of the France of his time that also gained him entrance to the leading literary salons. Besides composing additional works on society and politics, Montesquieu traveled
for a number of years through Europe including Austria and Hungary spending a year in Italy and 18 months in Englang before resettling in France. He was troubled by poor eyesight, and was completely blind by the time he died from a very high fever on February 10th, 1755 in Paris, France.
